Hidden gem Korean spot! The seafood knife-cut noodles are a must — generous in portion, especially for the price. The fried tempura plate is easily one of the best I’ve had — light, crisp. This place is seriously underrated. Foodies should be lining up.

We ordered the Kalgooksu, janchi guksu, and the shrimp+veggies tempura. Large portions for all three and the Kalgooksu and the tempura were excellent! However, the janchi guksu was mediocre and I wouldn't recommend it. Service was great! Edit: We came here 2 more times and the Kalgooksu is always amazing! The broth is very flavorful but it's not greasy. 1 bowl is large enough for 2 people so don't make the mistake of ordering too much.

An authentic Korean experience. The spicy ramen was full of flavor. the tempura portion was huge, slightly crunchy n mild in flavor.

SOUTH KOREA ???????? Excerpt from Eat the World Los Angeles: Walking into the serene conditions of this Garden Grove restaurant is almost like a wave of calm. The tasteful wood accents and decor give the feeling of entering a warm old cabin during the dead of winter. Whether it is hot or cool outside, these are great conditions to eat kal-guksu, a dish that originated as a summer meal. No matter what you order, every meal here begins with two bowls rather than the usual suspects of small plate banchan. Barley rice and yeolmu kimchi come in those bowls, the latter made from the greens of young summer radish. This is a bit more crunchy than cabbage-based kimchis, and feels very summery. Along with the sesame oil that you will find on the table, and maybe some gochujang, you can make your own little bowl of bibimbap before the orders start arriving. For good reason, the house special kal-guksu ($10.99) is part of almost everyone's meal here. Big groups might order two or three portions, which are put into increasingly large vessels to be ladled out to everyone in smaller bowls at the table. The few solo diners that were noticed all had the same posture, hunched over and almost inhaling their warming bowl.

Loved this place! Food is very good and they give you so much food for the money. First, they give you barley rice and radish kimchi (on the house), so you can make bibimbop as an appetizer, and then the handmade noodles are simply delicious with really good broth....reminded me of some of the best noodles from Korea. If you are in O.C., this place should be on your list to visit.

Overall service was satisfactory and atmosphere was just Korean restaurant as you expect. Ordered Hang A Ri Kalgooksu but honestly speaking, LA branch had better flavor. When I arrived 11:04AM in the Friday, 70% of seat is already occupied, so when you are planning to visit, you may have some wait times.

Boribab and Kimchi are so nice. Only thing is that this store doesn’t accept apple pay. Please keep your plastic card except Amex.
